EXECUTIVE MANAGEMENT

Jay Bray
Chairman, President & Chief Executive Officer

Jay Bray serves as the Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of Mr. Cooper Group. He also serves as President and CEO for Nationstar. Jay has also served in various leadership roles at Nationstar since joining the company in 2000.

Jay has nearly 25 years of experience in the mortgage servicing and originations industry. From 1988 to 1994, he worked with Arthur Andersen in Atlanta, Georgia, where he served as an audit manager from 1992 to 1994. From 1994 to 2000, Jay held a variety of leadership roles at Bank of America and predecessor entities, where he managed the asset backed securitization process for mortgage-related products, developed and implemented a secondary execution strategy and profitability plan and managed investment banking relationships, secondary marketing operations and investor relations. Additionally, Jay led the portfolio acquisition, pricing and modeling group at Bank of America.

He holds a B.A.A. in Accounting from Auburn University and is a Certified Public Accountant in the State of Georgia.

Amar Patel
Executive Vice President & Chief Financial Officer

Amar Patel serves as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for Mr. Cooper Group. He also holds this position at Nationstar. Amar joined Nationstar in 2006 serving in key leadership positions, including Executive Vice President of Portfolio Investments and Senior Vice President of Servicing Finance.  Prior to joining Nationstar, Amar held management roles at Capstead Mortgage Corporation, last serving as Senior Vice President of Asset and Liability Management.

Amar holds a B.B.A. in Finance and Mathematics from Baylor University and a M.B.A. from Southern Methodist University.

Tony Ebers
Executive Vice President & Chief Operating Officer

Tony Ebers serves as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Mr. Cooper Group. Tony joined Nationstar in 2015 and was most recently the company’s Chief Operating Officer, a role he assumed in April 2018 after serving as Executive Vice President of Originations.

Tony has held key leadership positions in mortgage lending, servicing and real estate transaction related services spanning a more than 25-year career. In 2015, he served as the Originations Division President at ServiceLink, a Black Knight company. Prior to ServiceLink, Tony served as Executive Vice President of Mortgage Lending and Servicing at OneWest Bank from 2009-2015. Tony also served as Executive Vice President and COO at IndyMac Bank from 2002-2009, managing retail banking, consumer lending, mortgage operations and home loan servicing.

Tony holds a B.S. in Business Administration, Finance and Banking with an emphasis in economics from the University of Missouri-Columbia.

Steve Covington
Executive Vice President & Chief Risk and Compliance Officer

Steve Covington serves as Executive Vice President and Chief Risk and Compliance Officer for Mr. Cooper Group.  Steve joined Nationstar in 2015 as its Chief Compliance Officer and in 2018 took on the role as its Chief Risk and Compliance Officer. He has more than 30 years of mortgage industry experience most recently serving as an Executive Director of Risk Management within Morgan Stanley’s residential mortgage business.  Prior to Morgan Stanley, Steve was a Senior Vice President and Director of Quality Control and Compliance at First Horizon Home Loans and Fleet Mortgage Corporation.  Steve also spent over a decade as a Federal banking regulator at The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, The Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation and The Office of Thrift Supervision.

Steve holds a B.S. in Banking and Finance from the University of South Carolina and an M.B.A. in Corporate Finance from the University of Dallas.

Kevin Dahlstrom
Executive Vice President & Chief Marketing Officer

Kevin Dahlstrom serves as Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer of Mr. Cooper Group.  Kevin joined Nationstar in 2014 as its Chief Marketing Officer.  He has more than 20 years of experience leading marketing, product strategy and e-commerce for financial organizations. Prior to his current role, he served as the Chief Marketing Officer at Elevate, a leading online provider of personal loans. While there, Kevin developed and implemented a multi-channel, data-driven customer acquisition strategy responsible for acquiring more than one million customers.

Kevin also was a key member of an executive team responsible for that company’s dramatic revenue growth, which averaged over 50% annually for nine years. Prior to Elevate, Kevin held senior positions in several high-grown Internet and software companies in Texas and California.

Kevin holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin.

Dana Dillard
Executive Vice President, Corporate Social Responsibility

Dana Dillard serves as Executive Vice President, Corporate Social Responsibility for Mr. Cooper Group. Dana joined Nationstar in 2013 and held various leadership roles, most recently serving as its Executive Vice President, Corporate Social Responsibility. She has more than 25 years of experience in the mortgage industry, with vast experience serving in different capacities across the industry. As EVP of Corporate Social Responsibility, Dana oversees industry and government relations, nonprofit engagement, community outreach and our newly launched Office of Diversity & Inclusion.

Previously, Dana worked at GMAC RESCAP, where she managed the REO, Liquidations and Community Outreach teams during the peak of the housing crisis. She has held other senior leadership positions at EMC Mortgage, Bank of America Mortgage and Lomas Mortgage.

One of the proudest moments in Dana’s career was when she led outreach efforts at HOPENOW from 2008-2010. During this time, she traveled across the country speaking with hundreds of struggling families. For that work, she received the Five Star Institutes Humanitarian of the Year award in 2009.

Dana is a Dallas native and holds B.A. degrees in Journalism and Business from Southern Methodist University.

Kelly Ann Doherty
Chief Communications Officer

Kelly Ann serves as Chief Communications Officer for Mr. Cooper Group overseeing all facets of external and internal communications, corporate positioning and storytelling. In her role, she is also a key leader supporting our culture initiatives to create a positive, encouraging and empowering work environment.

Kelly Ann is a strategic communications expert, seasoned in navigating the landscape of the financial services industry.  She joined Nationstar in 2016 as Senior Vice President of Corporate Communications where she led the corporate repositioning as the company rebranded from Nationstar to Mr. Cooper, while simultaneously managing the company’s public affairs narrative and the merger with WMIH, now known as Mr. Cooper Group Inc. Through varying leadership roles in the financial services sector, Kelly Ann has served as a crisis spokesperson, public affairs expert, communications innovator and executive counselor.

Previously, she served as Vice President of Corporate Communications at Elevate, a financial technology firm. She also served as a public relations and affairs consultant for four years and as a strategic communication staffer for a Presidential campaign and within President George W. Bush’s administration with a tour at the White House in Presidential Personnel and N.A.S.A. as a political appointee. Kelly Ann is also active in the community, serving on the Board of Directors for The Women’s Center of Tarrant County.

Kelly Ann holds a B.A. from George Washington University in International Media and Communications.

Ramesh Lakshminarayanan
Executive Vice President & Chief Business and Analytics Officer

Ramesh Lakshminarayanan is Chief Business and Analytics Officer for Mr. Cooper Group where he is responsible for using data and analytics to deliver deeper consumer insights. He joined Nationstar in 2012 as Executive Vice President and Chief Risk Officer and most recently served as the company’s Chief Business and Analytics officer. Ramesh has over 20 years of experience managing credit risk, with over 10 years of experience in risk management specific to the mortgage industry.

He previously worked for JPMorgan Chase from 2006 to December 2011, where he served as Chief Risk Officer Retail/Chief Risk Officer of Chase Home Lending and from January 2012 to June 2012 as Head of Capital Market Operations for Mortgage Banking. From 2001 to 2004, he worked for CitiFinancial as Chief Risk Officer of CitiFinancial Mortgages and from 2004 to 2006 as Group Chief Risk Officer of Consumer Finance North America.

Ramesh holds a Bachelor of Commerce Degree from Madras Christian College, India, and is a Fellow Member of the Indian Institute of Chartered Accountants.

Francis Lobo
Executive Vice President, Chief Business & Product Officer and President of Cooper Labs

Francis Lobo is Executive Vice President, Chief Business and Product Officer for Mr. Cooper Group and President of Cooper Labs, overseeing the organization’s digital strategy and product development. Francis joined Nationstar in 2018 where he served in the same role. Most recently, he served as Chief Revenue Officer for WeWork where he managed revenue, sales, performance marketing and data for the organization. Before taking on the Chief Revenue Officer role, he managed digital, technology and services for WeWork.

Prior to joining WeWork, Francis was the Chief Executive Officer of United Online Inc., a leading provider of consumer-internet products and services, including brands like NetZero, Juno, Classmates and MyPoints. His experience also includes nearly a decade at AOL where he held a number of different executive roles including President of AOL Services.

Francis holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from St. Joseph’s College at Bangalore University in India and a M.B.A. from Loyola University in Chicago.

Rayman Mathoda
Executive Vice President & Chief Executive Officer, Xome

Ray Mathoda serves as Executive Vice President & Chief Executive Officer of Xome. Most recently, she served as Co-Chief Executive Officer and a member of the Board of Directors at Genesis Capital LLC, one of the nation’s leading specialty finance companies focused on commercial loans in residential real estate markets. Genesis Capital was acquired by an affiliate of Goldman Sachs in 2018.

Previously, Ray was President and Chairwoman of Global Property Exchange and its wholly owned subsidiary Hudson & Marshall, an online real estate auction platform, which was sold to Fidelity National Financial in 2017. In the past 15 years, Ray has held transformation focused President or C-level roles at several key financial services and housing sector firms including ALAW, Oversite Data Services, and Indymac Bank (now OneWest/CIT). Prior to joining the financial services/ housing sectors, Ray was co-leader of the west coast healthcare practice at McKinsey & Company.

Ray has an A.B. Honors from Princeton University and a M.B.A. with Distinction from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University.

Glenn Onstad
Chief Audit Executive

Glenn Onstad serves as Chief Audit Executive for Mr. Cooper Group. He joined Nationstar in 2016 in the same role, bringing nearly 30 years of internal audit, risk and finance experience, with emphasis in the mortgage industry since 2004.

Glenn previously served in various internal audit leadership positions, including Chief Audit Executive for Ocwen Financial Corporation, Senior Audit Director for Capital One Financial Services, and SVP, Governance, Risk and Control for Bank of America Home Loans. Before entering the mortgage and financial services industry in 2004, Glenn served in internal audit and financial leadership roles in the consumer products, regulated electric utility, telecommunication and public accounting industries dating back to 1989.

Glenn earned both M.B.A. and B.B.A. degrees from University of Texas, Arlington, and holds CPA, CIA, CISA, and CMA credentials.

Michael Rawls
Executive Vice President of Servicing

Mike Rawls is Executive Vice President of Servicing for Mr. Cooper Group.  Mike joined Nationstar in 2000 and was named Executive Vice President of Servicing for the company in June 2015. Prior to that, he held key positions throughout the servicing line of business, in addition to leadership roles on the lending side of the business.

Mike is responsible for leading loan servicing operations for the traditional mortgage portfolio, as well as the firm’s reverse mortgage portfolio.

Previously, Mike served in leadership roles at Banc One Financial Services from 1997 to 1999 and at Household Financial Services from 1991 to 1997.

Mike received a B.A. in Business Management from Virginia Wesleyan College and has over 20 years of expertise in mortgage operations.

Sridhar Sharma
Executive Vice President & Chief Information Officer

Sridhar Sharma is Executive Vice President and Chief Information Officer for Mr. Cooper Group, where he is responsible for applications and technology operations. Sridhar joined Nationstar in 2015 in the same role.

Sridhar has nearly 20 years of experience leading technology and product engineering functions. He previously served as the Chief Technology Officer for Ugam Solutions in Dallas. Before that, he was the Chief Evangelist and Architect for the Products and Platforms group at Infosys.

Sridhar earned a B.S. in Electronics and Communication Engineering from the University of Mysore, India, and a M.B.A. degree from Cornell University in New York.

Tran Taylor
Executive Vice President & Chief Human Resources Officer

Tran Taylor is Executive Vice President and Chief Human Resource Officer for Mr. Cooper Group.  He joined Nationstar in 2015 and served in the same role. Over the course of his career, Tran has developed best-in-class people solutions and aligned HR initiatives to meet the needs of the business.

Most recently, Tran served as the Chief People Officer at Travelocity, one of the world’s largest online travel companies, helping transform the organization to a culture of innovation and a maniacal focus on the customer experience.

Previously, he held key Human Resources positions at Alliance Data, The Home Depot, Raytheon, Westinghouse and General Motors. Tran has served as a member of the Human Resources Policy Institute and the Corporate Leadership Council. He has also served as corporate executive advisor to multiple committees including United Negro College Fund-Dallas, the Marriott Bridges Advisory Council-Dallas, and the C2C (College to Corporation) Council.

Tran received a B.A. in International Relations and a M.B.A. in public administration from West Virginia University. Tran has also completed the Executive Strategic Human Resources Planning series at the University of Michigan Business School and he remains actively engaged in executive human resource speaking engagements and forums.

Anthony Villani
Executive Vice President & General Counsel

Anthony (Tony) Villani is Executive Vice President and General Counsel for Mr. Cooper Group. He joined Nationstar in 2011 and has served as Executive Vice President and General Counsel since 2012. Prior to joining Nationstar, Tony was Vice President and Associate General Counsel of Goldman, Sachs & Co. where he served as the managing attorney for Litton Loan Servicing LP, a Goldman Sachs company, from June 2008 until September 2011. He has also served as Executive Vice President and General Counsel of EMC Mortgage Corporation, a wholly-owned subsidiary of The Bear Stearns Companies Inc.

Tony holds a J.D. from Oklahoma City University School of Law and a B.S. in Political Science from Arizona State University. He was admitted to the Texas Bar in 1989.

Rob Gidel
Rob Gidel has been a principal in Liberty Partners, LLC, a company that invests in both private and publicly-traded real estate and finance focused operating companies, since 1998. Rob was President & Chief Executive Officer of Ginn Development Company, LLC, one of the largest privately-held developers of resort communities and private clubs in the Southeast, from 2007 until 2009. Rob also serves on the board of directors of DDR Corp. He is also a National Association of Corporate Directors Board Leadership Fellow. He holds a B.S.B.A. in Finance Insurance and Real Estate from the Warrington College of Business at the University of Florida. 

 

Roy Guthrie
Roy Guthrie has been the chairman of the Executive Committee of Renovate America, Inc. (a privately-held corporation), which provides an energy efficiency and renewable energy home improvement financing platform, since September 2018; he previously served as Chief Executive Officer from October 2017 to September 2018. Roy was Executive Vice President of Discover Financial Services, a direct banking and payment services company, from 2005 to 2012; he previously served as Chief Financial Officer from 2005 to 2011 and as Treasurer from 2009 to 2010. Roy was President & Chief Executive Officer of CitiFinancial International, LTD, a consumer finance business of Citigroup Inc., from 2000 to 2004, serving on Citigroup’s Management Committee throughout this period. Roy was also Chief Financial Officer of Associates First Capital Corporation from 1996 to 2000, while it was a public company, and he served as a member of its board of directors from 1998 to 2000. Roy also serves on the board of directors of OneMain Holdings, Inc. and Synchrony Financial. He holds a B.A. in Economics from Hanover College and an M.B.A. from Drake University.

 

Chris Harrington
Chris Harrington is a senior member of the financial services industry team of Kohlberg Kravis Roberts (KKR), a global investment firm that manages investments across a variety of asset classes, including private equity. Chris joined KKR in 2008 as an investment professional, focused on investments in the financial services industry. Chris has extensive experience in corporate financings, mergers, acquisitions, investments and strategic transactions. Christopher has played a significant role in a number of control and non-control investments made by KKR. In connection with these efforts, he has served on the boards of directors of several financial services firms, including Alliant Insurance Services, Sedgwick Inc., and Privilege Underwriters (PURE). Prior to joining KKR, Chris was with Merrill Lynch & Co., where he was involved in a variety of corporate advisory transactions. He holds an A.B., magna cum laude, from Harvard College and a J.D., magna cum laude, from Harvard Law School.

 

Mike Malone
Mike Malone serves on the board of directors of Walker & Dunlop, Inc. and New Senior Investment Group. From February 2008 until February 2012, he served as a Managing Director of Fortress Investment Group LLC, a global investment management group, where he was in charge of the Charlotte, North Carolina office and responsible for the business of the capital formation group in the southeast and southwest regions of the United States. Mike retired from Bank of America in November 2007, after nearly 24 years of service as Senior Executive Banker and Managing Director. Over those years Mike worked in and ran a number of investment banking businesses for the bank and its subsidiary, Banc of America Securities LLC, including real estate, gaming, lodging, leisure and the financial sponsors businesses. Mike holds a B.S. from the University of Kentucky.

 

Tagar Olson
Tagar Olson is a Member of KKR. He joined KKR in 2002, and he currently serves as Head of KKR’s financial services industry team. Tagar has played a significant role in KKR’s investment activity in the financial services sector over the past decade and currently sits on the boards of directors of Alliant Insurance Services, First Data Corporation, Santander Consumer USA, Sedgwick, Inc. and Visant Corporation and is involved with KKR’s investment in Nephila Capital Ltd. Prior to joining KKR, Tagar was with Evercore Partners Inc. starting in 1999, where he was involved in a number of private equity transactions and mergers and acquisitions. He holds a B.S. and B.A.S., summa cum laude, from the University of Pennsylvania.

 

Steve Scheiwe
Steve Scheiwe is President of Ontrac Advisors, Inc., which offers analysis and management services to private equity groups, privately held companies and funds managing distressed corporate debt issues. Steve also serves on the board of directors of Alimco Financial Corporation (formerly known as Alliance Semiconductor Corp.) and Verso Corporation. During the last five years he has also served on the board of directors of FiberTower Corporation, Primus Telecommunications Group, Inc., Mississippi Phosphates Corporation and Inner City Media Corporation. He holds a B.A. from the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs and a J.D. with honors from the Washburn University School of Law.
